Bianca
Herbert is an in demand performer, adjudicator and clinician for top music festivals,
music educational festivals and concert series around the U.S. She is currently a member of the Aurora Music Teachers
Association, the
Colorado State Music Teachers Association, the
Music
Teachers National Association & the Denver Musicians Association.
She has been teaching piano, violin, viola and cello for over 20 years. She attended the University of Northern Colorado studying piano, strings & voice. While at UNC, she was an
integral part of the Orchestra, Opera, Musical Theatre, Theater & Jazz Programs
where she
was also awarded various Downbeat Magazine Awards. Former students of
Colorado Music Lessons have been accepted into various college music programs
across the country. Many of Bianca's students currently attend and perform
with DSA, DYAO, DCYO and other local orchestras in addition to their
current school programs.
Over the last 20 years, she has been heavily involved in starting,
producing and performing in various music groups that have appeared in
major international jazz festivals across the United States. Her most
recent group Groove Society, opened up for top artists including Styx,
Bonnie Raitt, Paquito D’Rivera, Patty Austin, The Dirty Dozen Brass
Band, Bobby McFerrin and many more.
Bianca’s current projects are a
9-piece modern swing band, in addition to a gypsy swing quartet version
of the band, called Bianca and the
Flyboys and also a fusion/neo funk band called Atomic Fusion Initiative. Working hard to bring a very professional, visually exciting,
modern-vintage sound to audiences. Bianca and the Flyboys band also teaches classes
in swing dancing to raise the level of the audience experience and
enables them to participate in the festivities making it fun and
interactive!
In her spare
time she occasionally does commercial and studio work for select
companies around Colorado. She also enjoys spending time with her family
and a very cute parrot named Kaylee.
