April 4th

1) All-In-One Book - Find a song you haven't played before to challenge your reading skills

2) Lead Sheet Playing

-ROOT POSITION with RIGHT HAND & ROOT in LEFT HAND

Just for you to have fun but also keeping you up on finding chords really fast based on what you know from the arpeggios!  Don't worry about where on the piano just yet. I think I jumped the gun a bit too much this time around. When you feel you are able to navigate across a few songs pretty well let me know and we'll jump to the next step. If bored feel free to add the 7th to the chord.

3) Squirreling around on songs you like is a good way to put into practice what you like. Feel free to do that on occassion! It helps sight reading skilll IMMENSELY!

4) DO 4-5 SCALES ONLY

(major & minor if you know it) every time you sit at the piano.

  • I encourage you to not make the whole lesson about scales.  It also helps to keep them mixed up randomly so you can prove to yourself you can pull it out on the fly!
